"Coal"
2009 Grey Thoroughbred Cross Gelding
Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference from Coal and a big puppy dog. This beefy boy came to us when his pasture buddy passed away, and he had no other friends. Coal is a complete sweetheart who loves people. He's friendly, curious, and just downright fun to be around. He can be top-dog in turnout, but gets along well with his herdmates. Coal was diagnosed with Equine Metabolic Syndrome, and has a history of foundering. We have spent the last year making changes to his care, and getting his condition under control. Much to his dismay, Coal is going to need a home with a dry-lot pasture as he cannot eat grass. He wears special front shoes to help his feet, eats soaked hay (just to get the sugars out), and gets a couple of supplements to help his weight. Coal was trained to ride a long time ago, but isn't going to hold up for riding anymore. He can offer leadline rides to children with an experienced handler. Coal is a rock star to be groomed and loved on. He would make a great pasture pal for somebody who doesn't mind continuing his needs. In return, you would be getting a total goofball who would love you to the moon and back!
Suitable as a Companion Horse Only.
